In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 451/2026 dated June 1, 2026, Anatoliy Serhiyovych Opanasyuk, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Electronics and Computer Technology (ECT) of Sumy State University (SumDU), was awarded the state stipend for outstanding scientists for a term of two years. The staff of the ECT Department sincerely congratulates Professor A.S. Opanasyuk on this high state recognition of his more than 40 years of scientific and educational activity. This award is a testament to the significant contribution of the Head of the ECT Department to the development of materials science and electronics, the formation of modern scientific schools, the training of highly qualified specialists, and the development of higher education in Ukraine. The scientific works of Professor Opanasyuk, who has an h-index of 27 and more than 1,700 citations to his works, are widely known both in Ukraine and abroad, and his research in the field of new semiconductor materials and multilayer structures for creating microelectronics devices, solar energy, sensorics, and flexible electronics has made a significant contribution to the development of modern electronics.
In addition to A.S. Opanasyuk, the state stipend for outstanding scientists was awarded to 29 other scientists of Ukraine, among whom two—Leonid Hryhorovych Melnyk and Oleksandr Dmytrovych Pohrebnyak—work at SumDU. It should be noted that Prof. A.S. Opanasyuk became one of the youngest scientists included in the list of awardees.
