On 2 October, at the I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine presented the results of the state attestation of research institutions and higher education institutions regarding their scientific (scientific and technical) activities in the scientific fields “Engineering and Technology” and “Natural and Mathematical Sciences.”
Based on the evaluation results, Sumy State University was included in Qualification Group A in both areas. This is the third scientific field in which the university has confirmed the highest category, as earlier SSU was attested in the “Social Sciences” field and was also assigned to Qualification Group A.
At present, the university’s materials in the fields “Humanities and Arts” and “Biomedical Sciences” are undergoing evaluation, and the official results are expected soon.
Receiving attestation in Category A grants Sumy State University the right to receive basic funding for scientific activities in the corresponding fields for the years 2026–2030.
It is worth noting that a significant contribution to the successful attestation in the “Natural and Mathematical Sciences” field was made by the academic staff and researchers of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE), who are actively developing scientific research in the areas of optoelectronics, nanotechnology, solar energy, applied physics, and materials science.
