On the Occasion of the Day of Science, Head of the ECE Department Anatolii Opanasiuk Was Awarded for Scientific Achievements in the Field of Solar Energy

  On May 15, a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Science was held in Sumy at the premises of Sumy National Agrarian University, bringing together representatives of regional authorities and the scientific community of the region. During the event, Sumy State University presented its achievements and scientific developments, traditionally demonstrating significant results in the field of research and innovation implementation.

  

  Vice-Rector for Research of SumDU, Anatolii Chornous, emphasized the important role of university science in the development of the economy and the strengthening of Ukraine’s intellectual potential.

  

  However, science at SumDU is not only about numbers, rankings, and grant indicators. Above all, it is about practical developments that are already benefiting society today. As part of the celebrations dedicated to the Day of Science, scientists of Sumy State University who made a significant contribution to the development of education, scientific research, and innovation activities were honored.

  

  Serhii Hudkov, Associate Professor of the Volodymyr Martynkovskyi Department of Computer Mechanics and Head of the Center for Scientific, Technical and Economic Information, was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

  Certificates of Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine were awarded to scientists whose achievements are of considerable importance for the development of modern science. Among them was Anatolii Opanasiuk, Head of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, recognized for advancing research on complex semiconductor materials for solar energy applications. Oleksii Plastun, Chief Researcher of the Department of International Economic Relations, Doctor of Economics, Professor, was also awarded for his important work in exposing and debunking fake information in Russian science. Inna Makarenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting and Taxation, was recognized for her contribution to combating disinformation and exposing fake narratives in the Russian scientific space and received a Letter of Appreciation from the Ministry.

  Several other representatives of the university community were also awarded Letters of Appreciation from the Ministry for professional achievements in various fields. Ivan Dehtiarov, Associate Professor of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Machine Tools and Instruments, received recognition for his significant contribution to state-funded technical research projects. Olha Kramarenko, Head of the Educational Quality Assurance Center, was awarded for active participation in the development of regulatory documents of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding the implementation of open science principles. Andrii Piven, Head of the Educational Laboratory of Modern Information Technologies of the Computer Technologies Center, received recognition for the development of the startup movement at the university.

  Additionally, Serhii Sapozhnikov, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Hydroaeromechanics, was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Sumy Regional Council for the implementation and maintenance of a heat supply monitoring system for educational and healthcare institutions, which already provides up to 15% savings in budget expenditures.

  

  These awards testify to the high professionalism, dedication to science, and daily work for the benefit of the university, the region, and Ukraine.
