As part of the “Smart Lectures” project, the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies (ElIT) held a lecture titled “Self-Deploying Servers: The Magic of Cloud Technologies” for students of the Sumy Regional Academic Lyceum.
The lecture was delivered by Oleksii Viktorovych Diachenko, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering.
During the session, students learned about servers and data centers, the core systems that comprise a modern data center, and how power supply, cooling, network infrastructure, and security are managed within such facilities. Special attention was given to the operating principles of cloud technologies, the use of servers within AWS, load balancing, the creation of virtual infrastructure, and the “Infrastructure as Code” approach—a method that enables the deployment of servers and other resources through code.
The practical segment of the lecture demonstrated how to work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to create and launch virtual servers in a cloud environment.
Students participated in the lecture both in-person and online, ensuring the event was accessible to all interested individuals.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Olena Oleksandrivna Bilokon for her assistance in organizing the event and for providing the opportunity to deliver this lecture to the students.
