Specialty “Telecommunications and Radio Engineering.”

Since 2014, the EKT department has been recruiting applicants to study in the speciality 172 “Telecommunications and radio engineering”. The educational program “Network and Internet technologies”.

 

 

Telecommunications and Internet technologies are one of the most important and rapidly developing areas of the IT sphere. The main role in the development of information society in Ukraine, national infrastructure and integration into the world infrastructure is played by information and communication technologies (ICT) and telecommunication systems and networks. The annual growth of the ICT and telecommunications sector is 25% higher than that of the world’s best economies, and global IT brands in the field of telecommunications have become the most successful business projects of recent decades.

Creation of modern broadband multi-service transport networks based on Internet protocols; development of broadband subscriber access; development and optimization of the Internet telecommunications infrastructure; accelerated introduction of mobile radio technologies; ensuring the development of networks for general use (primarily the telephone network) and mobile telephone communication networks by transitioning to next-generation networks with interpenetration of information, multimedia, telecommunication and computer technologies and services is the object of professional activity of specialists in the specialty 172 “Telecommunications and radio engineering”.

 

 

 

In the process of education, students study disciplines that provide modern ideas about information, methods of its processing, separation, distribution and protection in telecommunication systems and networks; in-depth knowledge of modern information and communication technologies and electronic components and technical means of communication. Together with the skills of using software tools and working in computer networks, as well as the ability to create databases and use Internet resources, students master the ability to design new telecommunication, information and transport networks, digital data transmission and switching systems, mount and debug digital and optical network modules. A significant amount of disciplines provide students with thorough skills in programming telecommunication networks and mobile communication devices. By studying telecommunications, which are the basis of most modern information technologies, students can easily master related areas of the IT sphere: software and computer engineering, security of information and communication systems.

 

 

 

Most analysts consider the labor market in the field of telecommunications and Internet technologies to be the most promising in the 21st century, which is confirmed by the 30-50% demand dynamics even in conditions of economic hardship, by 2015 the shortage of specialists in this field may increase to 80%. As a result, there is a significant demand for specialists in the specialty 172 “Telecommunications and radio engineering” among state and commercial institutions both in Ukraine and in the world. Specialists in the field of telecommunications work in the regional and city directorates of the national communications operator PJSC “Ukrtelecom”, commercial operators and providers of mobile communications and Internet services “Kyivstar”, “Vodafone”, “InterTelecom”, “Volya” and “Radiosystems” “; in state and commercial television and radio companies. Specialists in the field of telecommunications successfully work for the world’s leading companies in the production of telecommunications and network equipment such as “Samsung”, “Cisco”, “Alcatel” and D-Link, and are employed by global Internet providers and telecommunications management companies ATT, Comcast , Free, Internode, NetCracker, PortaOne, etc.
