As part of the NATO project “3D Printed Functional Elements for Flexible Electronic Devices” (2022-2024) SPS MYR.G5916 dated 01.09.2021, members of the scientific team from the “Optoelectronics and Solar Energy” laboratory of the Department of Electronics and Computer Technology participated in a joint seminar with the scientific group (CreCYCSem) from November 25-28, 2024. This group comprises researchers from the Department of Applied Physics and Electromagnetism at the University of Valencia (Spain). During the seminar, lectures were delivered, and laboratory sessions were conducted on the following topics:
- Seminar 1: Introduction to electrical measurements: electrical contacts and their characterization. Methods of measuring electrical conductivity: van der Pauw method, Hall effect, and four-point geometry. Hall coefficient measurement methods: van der Pauw and Hall geometries.
- Seminar 2: Doping and the Fermi level: carrier density in classical and degenerate semiconductors; boundary cases of semi-insulating materials. Experimental examples. Introduction to the Boltzmann equation.
- Seminar 3: Conductivity dependence in the relaxation time approximation. Main scattering mechanisms illustrated through experimental examples. Classical magnetotransport: Hall effect.
- Seminar 4: Magnetoresistance. Deviations from the standard model. Transport transitions between localized states (hopping) and the semiconductor-metal transition. Experimental examples.
