During the excursion, the faculty introduced the applicants to the modern equipment actively used in the educational process, related to computer networks and information technologies. This equipment enables students to gain fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary for a successful career in today’s IT environment. Special attention was given to the demonstration of network equipment from Cisco, a world-renowned company in the field of networking solutions. Students have the opportunity to work with network switches, routers, and other devices, enabling them to acquire practical skills in configuring and administering networks.
The Cisco Packet Tracer software was also presented, which is used for modeling network topologies, configuring equipment, and studying the principles of network construction. The instructors demonstrated how future students will use this software to complete tasks and practical laboratory work, making the learning process as close as possible to real-world IT sector conditions.
Special focus was placed on the modern laboratory, which houses 3D printers, as well as a unique printer for printing circuit boards using conductive paste. This equipment allows students to gain experience working with additive technologies and independently create electronic components. The laboratory also features 3D printers of various types, used for creating prototypes and models, as well as for conducting research in the field of 3D printing. The circuit board printer opens up opportunities for working on projects related to the development of electronic circuits, significantly expanding the possibilities for students during their studies.
The virtual excursion helped future students gain a better understanding of the department’s educational opportunities and technical resources, which will enable them to effectively develop skills for a future career in electronics and telecommunications.
